From August 9 to 13, iSoftStone OpenHarmony live teacher training for 2021 was organized to enhance college teachers’ understanding of OpenHarmony, allow them to keep abreast of industry development trends, and improve their teaching capability. Some 200 teachers from over 50 colleges and universities across China attended this training. In addition, the session was also streamed free of charge to colleges and universities across the country through the iSoftStone cloud livestreaming studio and OpenHarmony education training group. During the session, more than 8,000 persons watched the live broadcast.
Opening ceremony—iSoftStone OpenHarmony Teacher Training
Guided by the OpenAtom Foundation, this OpenHarmony teacher training was co-sponsored by the Working Committee for OpenHarmony Project Group and Beijing iSoftStone Education Technology Co., Ltd. and supported by Nanjing BearPi Smart Technology Co., Ltd.
Leaders and guests attended the opening ceremony of the training session and delivered important speeches included Tao Yang, chairman of the OpenAtom Foundation, Ying Huang, vice chairman of iSoftStone Information Technology (Group) Co., Ltd., Jianshen Ou, member of the OpenHarmony Working Committee and director of open-source and developer operation of Huawei HarmonyOS.
Chairman Yang stressed the plans for OpenHarmony education, hoping to join efforts of all sectors of society in an open-source model featuring co-building, sharing and co-governance to cultivate developers for OpenHarmony and increase the number of developers.
Vice chairman Huang noted that iSoftStone would partner with the OpenAtom Foundation, the OpenHarmony Project Group and all eco-partners to jointly create an IoE system for the new era, and also wished to collaborate with experts and college teachers on education, to create a talent ecosystem for OpenHarmony.
Director Ou expounded on the relationship between OpenHarmony and HarmonyOS as well as the plans and supportive policies for the ecosystem of college developers, key issues that college teachers show a keen interest in,which has greatly enhanced their confidence.
Highlights—iSoftStone OpenHarmony Teacher Training
This teacher training course was delivered by Lecturer Leng and Lecturer Xia, senior technical experts from Beijing iSoftStone Education Technology Co., Ltd. By sharing technical practice and solutions in such forms as theoretical instruction, experimental demonstration and guidance and Q&A,the trainers have helped the teachers to develop an overall cognition of the OpenHarmony ecosystem and to prepare them for delivering courses to college students later.
For the training, a project was designed to fully connect the apps in the Internet of Things (IoT) system based on the BearPi-HM Nano, Huawei Cloud IoT platform, Huawei Kunpeng cloud server and Harmony app. The main knowledge points concerned include the principle for the operating system (OS), basic information about and use of bus interface and peripheral sensors, computer network communication protocol, introduction of Huawei Cloud and the method of accessing equipment onto the IoT platform, Harmony UI development, multithreading communication, cross-process communication, cross-device communication (distributed soft bus), distributed circulation, the amqp message queue, WebSocket, Springboot, etc. The training focused on the architecture design, technology selection, and the advantages and disadvantages of various technical solutions in combination with real-world projects.
After the training, the OpenAtom Foundation and iSoftStone Education jointly awarded the completion certificates of "OpenHarmony Teacher Training Course" to the participating teachers.
