Digital Synergy | iSoftStone Participates in the 2023 China Information Infrastructure and Data Center Energy-Saving and Low-Carbon Technology Exchange Conference

2023.11.18

On November 15th, the 2023 China Information Infrastructure and Data Center Energy-Saving and Low-Carbon Technology Exchange Conference, themed "Digital Synergy, Green and Low-Carbon, Industrial Symbiosis", was held in Guiyang and organized by the China Machinery Industry Federation. The conference brought together participants from government authorities, energy companies, equipment manufacturing enterprises, industry institutions, research institutions, and information technology companies. They collectively explored practical experiences, policy trends, and technological solutions for green, low-carbon, and efficient data centers in the current technological landscape and industry development context. As a reliable partner in the digital transformation of energy companies, iSoftStone's Senior Vice President Yang Niannong, Vice Dean of the Technology Research Institute Huang Peng, and Product Director of the AIOT Business Division Zhang Long were invited to participate in this grand event.

Acceleration of "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality" Goals for Green Transformation Across Industries

With the ongoing implementation of the "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality" strategy, China is making significant strides in green and low-carbon development, resulting in varying degrees of reduction in carbon emission intensity across different industries. However, challenges such as the need for substantial emission reductions, tight timeframes, restrictions on core technologies, and significant capital investments persist. There is an urgent need for comprehensive deepening of low-carbon development through technological innovation and industrial transformation.

In this process, the empowerment of the physical industry's green transformation by the digital economy is becoming increasingly evident. The energy industry, as the most critical industry application scenario for the digital economy, has seen considerable investments from various energy and energy equipment enterprises in building data centers and enterprise networks. According to the Digital China Development Report (2022) released by the National Internet Information Office, by the end of 2022, China's total data center rack capacity exceeded 6.5 million standard racks, with an average annual growth rate of over 30% in the past five years. The total computing power of operational data centers exceeded 180 EFLOPS, ranking second in the world. There were 153 national green data centers built, and the average design power usage effectiveness (PUE) of large ( or above) -scale data centers under planning or construction was reduced to 1.3.

Intelligent Empowerment for Industry Low-Carbon Development and Green Advancement

During the conference, Huang Peng, Vice Dean of iSoftStone's Technology Research Institute, delivered a keynote speech titled Smart Innovation Low Carbon - Data Center Construction and Operation Practices.

He mentioned that as energy-saving goals and requirements continue to rise, data centers face increasing pressures related to compliance and costs. There is a pressing need for data centers to take a path of low-carbon and high-quality operation. To address this, iSoftStone innovatively combines the "three transformations" principle—business digitization, scene-based management, and intelligent operation—with five elements of low-carbon transformation: "digital infrastructure, innovative basic software, data governance, security services, and AI intelligent applications". This approach helps data centers achieve low-carbon goals effectively. In the process of project implementation, iSoftStone has summarized and perfected a high-availability low-carbon implementation methodology. By building an end-to-end integrated low-carbon innovation solution covering the "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality" system consultation, project design, project delivery, and project operation, iSoftStone aims to assist industry users in successfully navigating the path of green and low-carbon development. Utilizing iSoftStone's iSSMeta Data Twin Platform, Data Center Operations Platform, MaaS 2.0 Intelligent Platform, Carbon Intelligent Management Platform, Operation and Maintenance Service Platform, and other intelligent applications and domestic information technology innovation services, this solution provides robust business support for low-carbon initiatives in data centers.

Moreover, during the conference, iSoftStone and Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co., Ltd. ("Zhejiang Dahua") jointly launched the "Digitalized Industrial Park Joint Solution". This solution fully integrates the technical advantages of iSoftStone and Zhejiang Dahua in AIoT and safety production management in chemical industrial parks. It constructs a new generation of intelligent chemical industrial park safety foundation, enhances safety supervision and technological breakthroughs, and promotes the healthy development of the industry. Zhang Long, Product Director of iSoftStone's AIOT Business Division, delivered a keynote speech titled Leading Safety, Advancing Green: The New Era of Chemical Industrial Parks Driven by Digital Intelligence.

He shared the practical application of the digitalized industrial park joint solution in chemical industrial parks. According to the presentation, this solution deeply integrates national policies and regulations, revolves around the AIoT spatial intelligence perception, computing interaction triple theory, and leverages iSoftStone's large model capabilities in chemical scenarios. With digital management as its core, the solution integrates safety production systems, significantly reinforcing spatial safety management in chemical industrial parks and elevating the safety production management level for park enterprises. The solution, based on a unified technical platform and park business middle platform, establishes nine major application modules covering hazard identification, operation management, emergency command, intelligent security, intelligent passage, intelligent energy, intelligent environmental protection, intelligent office, and smart administration. It assists chemical enterprises in achieving safe production, meeting the diverse needs of intelligent IoT, intelligent decision-making, and emergency rescue in chemical industrial parks for the next 5 to 10 years.

At present, the digitalized industrial park solution has been applied in multiple petrochemical industrial parks and chemical bases, demonstrating intelligent, flexible safety management and park emergency management. It has achieved timely, accurate, visual, controllable, and efficient intelligent management of safety production in chemical industrial parks, effectively enhancing the level of digital control in chemical industrial parks.

The successful hosting of this conference injects new energy into the development of energy-saving and low-carbon technology in information infrastructure and data centers. In the future, iSoftStone will continue to leverage its professional expertise in related fields, making greater contributions to industry development and the green and low-carbon transformation.
