Ning Zhenbo, former chief consultant at the Aviation Industry Information Technology Center of China and an independent director of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, shared insights into the necessity and value of digital simulation in the aviation industry. Using examples from aircraft development processes, he vividly demonstrated the significant impact of aerodynamic simulation, assembly simulation, and structural mechanics simulation on improving the efficiency and reducing the costs of advanced aviation equipment development. He highlighted the advantages of a "top-down design and bottom-up integration" approach to digital product development. Looking ahead, virtual testing and trials based on fully digital prototypes are set to become a reality.
Professor Lu Jianfeng from Nanjing University of Science and Technology shared insights into the "Reliability Assessment Techniques for Digital Twin Systems". He noted that the deep integration of digital twin technology with artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things is reshaping the paradigms for equipment development and deployment. Lu emphasized that high-fidelity modeling and highly reliable simulation are key to advancing the application of digital twin systems. He proposed an eight-dimensional evaluation framework for digital twin models, covering effectiveness, universality, efficiency, intuitiveness, connectivity, integrity, flexibility, and intelligence. Recently, Lu's team focused on developing a mechanism model of excavator engine dynamics and an interactive model of the entire machine. By collecting data from both physical and digital domains, they constructed an evaluation indicator tree and workflow, enabling credibility assessments.
